Turn on auto-correct on Microsoft Office applications i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

To turn on auto-correct on Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, follow the instructions steps below:
Outlook                                                                                                                
  1. To ensure that auto correct option is ticked in Outlook, load Outlook first.
  2. Go to 'File' in the Outlook menu bar.
  3. Select Options - Outlook Options prompt should open as shown in screenshot below.
  4. Go to Mail in Outlook options.

  1. Click on 'Spelling and Autocorrect' options which should open Editor Options window.
  2. Ensure you are on 'Proofing' option in Editor Options and click on 'AutoCorrect Options'
  3. A pop up should open AutoCorrect: English (United Kingdom) - as displayed in screenshot below.
  4. Ensure the option 'Replace text as you type' is ticked and click on OK.
  5. You may need to restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.


Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint                                                                               
  1. To ensure that auto correct option is ticked in Outlook, load Outlook first.
  2. Go to 'File' option in the menu bar.

  1. Then select 'Options'
  2. Go to 'Proofing', then click on button 'AutoCorrect Options...' (as displayed in screenshot below)

  1. Ensure the option 'Replace text as you type' is also ticked.
  2. Click on OK and you may need to restart Word application if changes made.
